We had our last pack meeting of the school year last night. We had several boys get awarded their rank and moved forward to the next rank. We also talked about the several activities that we have planned over the summer; camping, mini golf, car wash, and Clippers game.

Last Week our 5th grade Webelos begin their journey with Boy Scouts. We had 100% of the boys crossover to Boy Scouts. Our boys selected two local troops, Troop 380 and 417.

The PINEWOOD DERBY was a HUGE SUCCESS!! Here is a note from Cubmaster Kathy Wink:

Scout Families,
Please congratulate all the boys who participated in the Pinewood Derby for their hard work on their cars and the fine job they did exhibiting true sportsmanship at the event. Parents, thank you for getting your boys there for the weigh in and the day of the Derby. I know the weather made it somewhat of a challenge. I know the boys had fun showing one another their cars and their creative cake decorating skills. I heard lots of good stories!

Hi Scouter Families,
The excitement about the Pinewood Derby and Cake Walk Friends of Scouting Fundraiser is Building.
Families please remember that the Cake Walk will take place on Saturday, February 6. We ask each family to provide a cake for the silent auction. It is suggested that you bake the cake with your scout so they can earn an achievement however,if that does not work in your schedule a store purchased cake is fine. Bring your cake to the weigh in on Friday or by 9AM Saturday,We also ask that each family take a cake home. We would not want any of the boys to think that no one wanted their cake after they hopefully worked on it.

Happy New Year to those of you I have not seen. I wanted to let you know that at our
Pack meeting Thursday, January 21, 2009 that we will not be having a cake walk to raise money for Friends Of Scouting. However, we will have it in conjunction with the Pinewood Derby which will take place on February 6, 2009. Money raised is used to pay for the upkeep of the districts camps, events, staffing and all the things that hopefully your son is enjoying with his participation in scouting.

At this month’s meeting we passed out Pinewood Derby cars kits, Popcorn Trophies, candy canes, and a Bike to the number one sales person in the pack.
